5-4-20 THOUGHTS
I’m thinking of Jesus as I begin a Monday morning. I wonder at the FULNESS of
what God has done for us in Christ Jesus. I have a high priest who can
understand my every weakness. He is GOD, yet he became like me...
Physical man, Son of Man! HE SAVED ME... HE INTERCEDES FOR ME!
What an awesome picture of COST & LOVE! I AM NOT ALONE!
Don’t lightly read what follows.
ABSORB IT IN YOUR HEART!
Heb 2:14-3:2 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and
blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He
might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15
and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery
all their lives. 16 For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He
gives help to the descendant of Abraham. 17 Therefore, He had to
be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and
faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the
sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was tempted in that
which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.
3:1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider
Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession; 2 He was
faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house.
Heb 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who
has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast
our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot
sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as
we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to
the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in
time of need.
Heb 7:22-25 so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee
of a better covenant. 23 The former priests, on the one hand, existed in
greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, 24 but
Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood
permanently. 25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those
who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession
for them. 26 For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy,
innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens;
Php2:1-8 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is
any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any
affection and compassion, 2 make my joy complete by being of the
same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 3
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of
mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not
merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of
others. 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ
Jesus, [are you listening...]
6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not
regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself,
taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8
Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming
obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
My Prayer:
Most merciful God, thank you for the completion of your great eternal wisdom in
Jesus. How marvelous are your ways. Oh how you have perfectly blessed us
and continue to bless us. We rest in your great love. In
the precious name of Jesus
Amen
